Solderable surfaces

The coating of aluminium components with tin or terne metal is a well-proven process of achieving solderability of components. Oxidation of the surfaces, however, often causes problems, especially when modern, non-activated or low-activated fluxing agents with a low solid content are used. A suitable alternative for producing solderable surfaces on aluminium is a special 'white bronze' used by Fischer Elektronik. For many years, this type of coating has stood the test as a contact material in the electrotechnical industry. The outstanding resistance to tarnishing, good thermal conductivity and excellent solderability which is achieved by the composition of the alloy, make 'white bronze' the first choice for making the surfaces of small and finger-shaped aluminium heatsinks solderable by means of coating.
